Week 185, race #2, September 24: You know I’m all about that Basie (inaugural Boulevard 10K)

Two races, two race series completed (Medal Monday is going to take some staging). The inaugural Boulevard 10K was pretty darn fun. Pushing 70° and about 99% humidity, and there were hats, jackets, and shirts coming off all around me. Not this guy. Full “tux” to the very end. To explain the pocket square: in honor of our favorite Kansas City Running Company race director Brad, the gnag decided to wear orange traffic cones, or at least orange and white. Several wore cone costumes, but since I didn’t want to go out and get the Dumb and Dumber ‘fit, nor did I have a playlist on the theme of traffic cone. But I did get a friend to make a pocket square from the fabric she made several of the skirts (BTW, John, stunning). I think I looked rather dashing. The course was challenging as only KCMO can be. Do you notice the nice cone shape on the elevation chart? Well played, Brad!
