Familiar race (and race company), new place (Aspiria) and day (on the 4th). Runners were scattered across several races today, but somehow this one had 25% more than last year on a different day. Just off another round of torrential rain that flooded many creeks and streams in the Metro, the humidity was off the charts. I was glistening long before start time. I of course got the usual round of comments, like race director Brad saying, “You have a lot going on. A LOT going on,” and Kody summarizing as, “You look like America!” The course isn’t my favorite, and there is more elevation change than you’d think. To anybody I smacked with my untested wingspan… sorry. ‘MERI-CAW!
