When I saw that my vacation plans precluded doing a race this weekend, I was initially a little bummed. Until I saw what today was going to be! When October has a Friday the 13th, you know it’s going to be wild. I got a little lost drawing the right side of the hilt because I accidentally started the route backwards and couldn’t use my turn-by-turn app. The overcast made it just dark enough to be spooky without being treacherous, because Waldo has some crazy uneven sidewalks. Pro tip: When running with a machete, hide behind a tree or pole at intersections while waiting to cross. Then wipe the blade with a rag soaked in red paint. Pro tip #2: When planning a route as a horror franchise baddie, consider not starting it next to an elementary school at dismissal time.
