ALWAYS one of my favorite races of the year, and although I was slower tonight than the last two struggle-y years, this felt OK physically. The costume was super easy, albeit without my run belt (thank the teller for Zensah socks to stick my Gu in at least). No idea how long it’ll take me to get this makeup off, though. I had… “fun” doesn’t seem like the right word? doing the character. I really couldn’t remember many of the actual lines. Plenty of people got told to get out of my swamp, and I mistook a handful of dogs for Donkey. The gruff/grumpy persona wasn’t even an act. I guess it’s cathartic to “pretend” to yell at people when you’re frustrated with stuff outside the run world. (House buying/selling, ’nuff said.) I’ve already got next year’s character planned… surprise!
