Year 5 begins! Another craic, er, crack at this course. Much nicer conditions than last year, and no rain until a few drops afterward. I tried like 5-6 times and 3 different setups to get the “flying snakes” photos. I had planned to do this at long run pace with additional miles after, but I decided as soon as I began mile 2 that I could open it up and try a bit of a 5K time trial. I didn’t realize until I was trying to start that I’d not yet used Strava on my watch after getting my new phone, so I just had to start running and let the watch ask me if I was running. Yup! Both before and after, I got many, many photos with folks. Also, I won the costume contest… was it rigged given that the race was literally named for me? Lá Fhéile Pádraig sona duit!
