A low-key progression through some of Kansas City’s historic jazz scene including, of course, the 18th and Vine Jazz District. That’s Charlie Parker in the form of “Bird Lives,” and the intersection that was 12th Street And Vine. No honks, just a wave of two, plus an awkward detour around some unhoused folks that I obviously woke up. My first experience on the wrong side of a non-colorfast costume item – the teal in the hat melted onto everything with my copious sweat.
