Hottest/ highest dewpoint race of the year so far. You don’t see it in the pre-race photos, but I wore an ice vest under the robe with 6 packs. It probably weighed about as much as a 2-year-old, we think. Not really sure if the cooling was worth that much extra weight. Anyway, I survived. My favorite quote came from a friend of a run friend on Facebook. My friend did a different race, but his other friend commented: “Some dude ran in a robe in my race today. Lol. I have no idea what that was about. He either ran the 10k or half. ? My best guess was, maybe he wanted to have a heat stroke!. ?” Yup, pretty much.
