Another one that I’ve had ready for a while, but the inside conditions in the Subtropolis were a break from the intense heat this time, instead of from ice and snow, since the Groundhog Run got bumped from its normal spot at the end of January. In winter it’s about 65-68°; today the outside air got it and made this a bit, uh, higher. I spent much of the 90 minutes between races (5K at 8 AM; 10K at 10) in front of a giant fan, trying so hard to dry out the all-cotton shirt. No luck. That bad boy didn’t make the final 5K lap. Still a super fun morning, bringing some edge to the land of neon, leg warmers, and elevator music like Bon Jovi. For once, safety pins weren’t tacky. Whatever.
