I was not throwing away my shot! We just happen to be in the greatest (running) city in the world… for today. The air was filled with recognition and compliments: “Brilliant!” “Love it!” and, um, “Sick!” but also plenty of “Oo, who are you, who are you?” (The list included king/prince, Prince Charming, General, Captain, Captain MORGAN, and even Farquad from Shrek!?) Finally got this guy in front of a crowd, and no regrets, but as race times go it was a total dud for me. Evaluating if future half marathons are still even in my wheelhouse.
