Week 256, March 1: What’s in your Yeti? (Running from Yeti 10K)

Running from Yeti? Why not a Stanley? Or whatever this knockoff brand was? This was a race registration I had deferred from last year when it got postponed due to ice, and I had another race on the new date. At the time, we lived less than a mile from Vaydik Park. Let me tell you, if you’re not familiar with running routes in the Northland, you need to come check out the Line Creek Trail. Elevation goes up as you go north towards Barry and Highway 152, so my course today spent most of the second half climbing. I even got to help my friend B and his mom push his chariot up the last big hill. (Without that double-back, my 10K would actually have been a little short.) Saw a few friends, many were in Lawrence or out of state. Apparently this is a faith-forward race company, so it was kind of weird playing a song by Ice Cube. (It was edited! Come on, I keep it PG-13!) The costume took a bit of modification, as the original armholes were positioned for a preteen at best. If you missed it today, don’t worry. I’ll yeet this back into the hopper.

Tumbley costume is from Target – I flipped it to the back and covered that with my sign
