A fun solo effort with tons of people exposure. Right up my tin pan alley. The day is Global Movie Day, held on the second Saturday of February every year, to celebrate the power movies have to reach, connect, and inspire people around the world. I checked out a wiki of all the Academy Awards for Best Original Song, as well as the non-winning nominees. To narrow it, I decided songs had to 1) be from a movie I have memories of seeing in connection with the actual song, 2) not be a cartoon, muppet, or superhero film. That left a ton of the 80s and 90s since those were my formative years and I was allowed to see movies on my own from at least age 10 (PG to start, duh). The metallic bodysuit took 3 tries in ordering. The initial one was more of a shiny tomato soup color. Fail. Then I ordered my typical size for this one, but needed to bump to the very tallest size they offered due to critical zipper placement. It purported to be less breathable than other fabrics, which was entirely true, but the ensemble was just about right for the conditions today. I managed to visit 6 of the historic theaters/theatres between Midtown, downtown, and NKC: Uptown Theater, (B&B) Mainstreet, Midland, Folly, former Lyric (now part of the Kirk Family YMCA), and Screenland Armour. All the honks, all the waves and weird looks, even a few fist bumps/high fives from folks on the way to Fan Central at Union Station, and one guy gave me some plastic coin in Chiefs colors because my outfit was beautiful. Thanks, man.
