Week 250, January 11: There’s a million miles I haven’t run. This will be enough. (Solo run for A. Ham birthday)

Changed up the location when the snow and ice rolled in a week ago, knowing that the streets at the Downtown Airport would be clear long before Line Creek Trail. It also allowed me to be more flexible on distance and time. As it happened, I reeled it in after a single lap. I forgot how the topcoat gets pretty drafty since it doesn’t actually close. It was also going to be pitch black before another lap, and Alexander did not wear a reflective vest. Ben Franklin didn’t invent one. Slacker. I made it to our local Minsky’s Pizza for Restaurant Week, sharing a simple salad-and-mini combo with Mrs. Cosplay Runner. It wasn’t even our server, but one of the staff came up to me and said, “There’s got to be a story. I want to hear it!” (Still in my outfit, except for the sweaty cravat.) When she stopped by later, she said, “I’ve got $5 on reenactment. The other server has $5 on a play.” I said, “Nope, you’re both out the $5,” and explained what I was up to. She was so impressed that I not only ran for fun, but in costume, she brought a complimentary bag of cookies. Happy birthday, Mr. Hamilton!
