Since I live in the Liberty area (of KCMO but close enough), I had to give the local Turkey Day race a try again. It’s darn close to having outgrown the course. Enough of us ran in a lane of traffic at the start that we had safety in numbers. But there were plenty of slower runners and walker left on the out-and-back trail overlap when the lead runners came through, I hope nobody collided. After rain most of yesterday, I was glad it was mostly dry. The footbridges were kinda tricky, but I didn’t fall. (Another year of not falling since The Thanksgiving Incident of 2012!) I think I saw a kid just after running into a fire hydrant?! And another had a heckuva bloody nose. Props to the folks using a modified Galloway method: walk/jog until the guy in the costume catches up, then run ahead.
