A very simple costume, just a little weird on breathability. The wind cuts through it but it also holds in heat. Eh, whatever. The real challenge was a course that turned from crushed gravel to an ongoing maze of puddles after overnight rain and a lingering mist. I gave up trying to go around them somewhere during mile 2, opting to just aim for the narrowest or shallowest part. No mud-surfing on the course itself, just on the warmup. I thought I had 10 minutes longer than I did, so that got cut short and my stretching was cursory. Saw and chatted with the run friends and got my Scout snuggles that have to last like 5 weeks! After a trying and divisive week, it was great to be among my people that accept everyone, all bodies, paces, political persuasions (like coffee or hot cocoa, ya know), college sports fandoms, we all feel welcome.
