Clear skies, full heart, can’t lose. Wait. Wrong movie. Turns out I can’t quote much of Goose without it getting NSFW, but at least more people called me by that name than Maverick. The temperature was much more, well, temperate than last year’s event. I rather liked the 10K course – a decent mix of the gravel and some pavement. The score tracks got a little repetitive but I think I got some timing cues off on the YouTube bootleg. The traditional soundtrack, though – 
. Speaking of remakes starring Miles Teller, I just might have to stick Footloose into the official hopper. I can never seem to get enough Kenny Loggins. Despite having to stop a couple times to retie my shoelaces, I got to hang with Kyle from the Back of the Pack podcast for most of the course. Turns out it got him to a 10K PR by over 5 minutes! After crossing the finish, I ditched the longer base layer and suited back up for some more miles. But first a couple more pics with people, plus an older guy who asked if I had been in the Air Force – kudos to HalloweenCostumes.com/ Fun.com for the authenticity! I do wish I had kept the gloves for the other 4.8 miles, because the clouds rolled in and it felt chillier. Solid morning overall; ready for the goal half marathon next week Sunday.
