Week 159, March 25: Torched a few miles today (Liberty Half Marathon/ Jewell 5K)

Another difficult one. As with many of my 100% DIY costumes, it was down to the final evening after scrapping the more complicated and unworkable iterations. I was pretty happy with the Cricut look, and the flame fabric even mostly stayed in place. It was my first time back in Liberty since 2020, albeit downgraded from the half to the 5K, which was still quite challenging with multiple quick hills. Afterward, I wasn’t feeling great, so I skipped the extra miles from Jewell back to the church shuttle lot. I felt a little better after getting home, and intended to get in the extra then, but after 2 miles I got light-headed and got a Lyft home. Cue the rest of the day with pain in my stomach and a fever. Guess dressing like a torch got a little too realistic.
