Week 135, Oct. 8: Verily, ’twas a challenge

Week 135, Oct. 8. Finally a 1-run, non-race weekend. A pocketful of ponderings on this fine fall day:

  1. The fair maiden (wife) being on a journey hath caused me great discombobulation. I forgot any safety pins or costume tape, so things were flapping all over today.
  2. The hat, reconstructed from vintage late 1980s, was just a bit too large. Add a touch of wind and it floated half off like a da Vinci hot air balloon.
  3. The playlist was a challenge. Much from the period is dirge-y and depressing. But then I discovered Bardcore! That made it exceptionally fun.
  4. I changed the starting point due to a cross country team gathered at the planned one. Nearly 35 years later and I was still intimidated at the thought of wearing tights in front of high school jocks.
  5. Little Blue Parkway needs to be renamed Little Blue Speedway.
  6. My absolute favorite thing about (early) fall is seeing Virginia Creeper turn red like it’s about to catch the whole woods aflame.
