Week 293, November 15: Unseasonably warm. Too warm for hot coffee? Yeet that. (The Yeti Endurance Weekend 5K)

Showed up this morning fully expecting to see other tumblers, maybe even trade lid-fit horror stories, but nope—just me, one bewildered Y̶e̶t̶i̶ YEET cup in a warm, humid haze. I almost didn’t get to compete thanks to a last-minute registration scramble, but once we were in, the Ozanam run club and the Let Me Run boys filled the place with big energy. One runner heard the Nelly song playing and casually mentioned he used to be his neighbor, which felt like a very specific flex for mile two.

The first two miles were smooth and steady, then I cranked up the final mile and went for it—good enough for a second-place age group award, then a bonus win from the run team’s drawing: a gift card to The Running Well Store. Not a single other cup showed up, but somehow I still walked out the most decorated drinkware on the course.

Up next: Hoping to not get lost in the woods with next weekend’s doubled-up schedule – I should still have something to show at Gobbler Grind

Pieces/ Parts: A refill of March’s “other” Yeti-themed 10K in the same Tumbley tunic from Target

By the Numbers: 276 unique costumes in 291 races, 190 solo runs, and 8 group runs = 489 costumed runs
