The “Kansas City Chefs” aspect of the costume has been in the works for a long time. The playlist was an awesome experience to create! I mapped out 11 area restaurants with recent James Beard Award winners and/or nominees for best chef, restaurant, or bakery. I visited each, mostly during early dinner unless I could get to a lunch. I explained that I wasn’t there to eat, just to Shazam and see what was playing. That produced the song list you see. Thanks to the establishments below for cooperating. Sorry to those I made think I was auditing for compliance with Spotify commercial account TOS. As for the Muppet angle, well, that came less than 12 hours before race time. I had planned to keep things classy and created a Chefs logo for the uniform. I forgot that when a design is sized down, the Cricut weeding gets difficult, if not impossible. Plan scrapped, but I had the perfect mustache thanks to the set I bought a year ago for Ed Sheeran and Lucky the Leprechaun. The race was nearly as cold as 3 weeks ago (Battle of the Bean), but great as always to see the run fam and pose for a smorgasbord of photos.
